How to choose a wig suits your face shape
If you are purchasing a wig want to look fabulous, getting the right shape to compliment your face is incredibly important. When purchasing your wig online, it can be difficult to know which style will flatter you best. All wigs aren’t for everyone. If you want to find the wig just right for you, then search based on your face shape.
Trying to pick just one stock image out of a lineup can feel impossible. What you want is the shape that looks the most like yours — even if your chin is a little more pointed than the “typical” oval, or your forehead a little wider than the “usual” inverted triangle. These are all just guidelines to help you determine how to balance and complement your features, not unbreakable rules.
There are five standard face shapes: oval, round, heart, long, and square.
OVAL: You’re in luck! Oval is considered the “ideal” face shape in our societyBecause this face shape is so symmetrical, nearly any wig will work with it. Consider one that will draw attention to your face shape, such as a long bob wig.
ROUND: A round face shape usually consists of a wide hairline and a circular form. This face shape often has a sweet, sunny, somewhat youthful appeal with perky cheeks when you smile. The best wig for this shape will be fuller at the crown in order to make the face appear longer. Choose a longer style.
HEART: A heart face shape typically has a wide forehead, high angular cheekbones, and narrow chin, which looks like an upside-down triangle. Your best choices are chin-length or longer wig styles, including hair that’s parted to the side, swept forward in layers around the upper part of your face, and even gently wispy bangs. as it creates balance in the face and re-establishes symmetry.
LONG: If you have a pointed chin and a narrow face, you have a long face shape. Overall, for a long face shape, the idea is to add more width rather than height. Keeping the style of the wig to waves and relaxed curls is an ideal way to add that width and volume that’s needed to add a balance to the face shape.
SQUARE: The square face shape is characterized by a wide angular jaw which is the same width as the forehead. In order to soften the sharp angles of your cheeks and jaw, choose a wig that adds height, and focus on soft waves or layers. Your best choices include short or medium-length wig styles since these can minimize the length of your face.
